Alaina leads client engagements with a focus on organizational assessment, program evaluation, change management, and strategic planning.  She has strong oral and visual communication skills and understands the benefits of collaboration and creative delivery.  She is not afraid of the complex challenges our clients face and sees them as opportunities to rally the team and develop creative and effective solutions.  Alaina brings an industrial design mindset to Clarus; her ingenuity and ability to think strategically benefit both internal and external stakeholders.  Alaina primarily works with clients on strategic communication and planning, including the design of communication tools and messaging strategies that promote efficiency and stakeholder unification around process and outcomes.

Alaina is the vice president of Cooking with Cancer, Inc., a non-profit organization with the mission of “Helping those afflicted with cancer enjoy a better quality of life through food.”  As a school-trained pastry chef, Alaina is often in the kitchen. When she is out on the town, she is actively involved with the Alabama and Lyric Theatres as a member of their Junior Board of Directors. She enjoys all things Birmingham and is studying to become a sommelier.

Previous Experience

Alaina’s diverse experience includes work with universities, government agencies, non-profits, and large for-profit companies.  Her hands-on education focused on addressing complex problems by re-imaging the problem and creating new solutions to address the unique needs of each client.  Specific projects include promoting guerrilla art exhibitions, creating recipes for cancer patients, and designing advocacy tools for people with disabilities.  She has grown from project manager to consultant in her time at Clarus and continues to bring a unique eye to our diverse portfolio of clients.
